What Time Is It In Your Home Town?

Children ride the school bus to school.

If you are driving and you see the flashing bus lights, STOP!

You might not see a child and injure them.

If you do not stop, you will get a ticket.

Learn to ride public transportation in your city.

In the Greater Lansing area of Michigan our system is called Capital Area Transportation Authority (CATA). Everyone calls it CATA which is an acronymn of the complete name.

CATA Bus:

Fares (How much does it cost?) PDF file

Farebox: If you have a fare card, hold it as shown and move the card through the reader.

If you don't have a fare card or token, be prepared with a $1.00 bill or 4 quarters for each time you get on. The driver cannot make change. Students and registered Seniors (62 years or older) and disabled persons pay 50 cents - 1/2 the cost of the regular fare.

Transfers: (May I have a transfer?)

Note: If you use more than one bus to reach your destination, ask the driver for a transfer when you board the bus. The farebox will print a transfer card for you to take. At that point, you will have up to 2 hours to make 2 free transfers. (The expiration time is printed on your transfer card.) Simply insert the card in the farebox slot shown above within that 2-hour time period when boarding. Insert your transfer ticket in the farebox slot of your next bus when boarding.

Bike Racks: Click to see directions and photos.

Thousands of residents use bicycles to travel in the Greater Lansing area. CATA has installed bike racks on our fixed-route buses to make intermodal commuting easier. If your bike is on the bike rack, please tell the driver you will be taking it off just before you exit the bus.

There are Bike Lockers located in East Lansing, Lansing Community College, and near Cooley Law School and Davenport College.

Exit: Please exit at the rear door.

For your safety, wait until the bus passes before crossing the street.

Bus stop: (Where is the nearest bus stop?)

(Where do I get off?)

(How do I signal the driver to get off?) Note: About a block from your destination, push the plastic strip beside the window (on some buses you pull a cord). This will signal the driver to stop at the next bus stop.

God's Truth: Jesus - Example for Life

1. In many ways the family of Jesus saw that Jesus was very special: 2. Not only was Jesus an example in growing mentally, physically, socially, and spiritually, He provided an example for us in every way. Once Jesus told his followers,
* The visit of the angel Gabriel with Mary, telling her about the Baby Jesus
* The singing angels in the sky, telling the shepherds about Baby Jesus
* The visit of the shepherds to worship the Baby Jesus
* The visit of Jesus with the teachers in the temple
"I have set the example, and you should do for each other exactly what I have done for you." (John 13:15, CEV)
"God will bless you, if you have to suffer for doing something good. After all, God chose you to suffer as you follow in the footsteps of Christ, who set an example by suffering for you. Christ did not sin or ever tell a lie. Although he was abused, he never tried to get even. And when he suffered, he made no threats. Instead, he had faith in God, who judges fairly. Christ carried the burden of our sins. He was nailed to the cross, so that we would stop sinning and start living right. By his cuts and bruises you are healed." (I Pet. 2:20b-24, CEV)
